Love the discussion, so here we go....
Mir vs Dos Santos - I'll give Frank credit. He managed to be in the right place at the right time, thanks of course to Overeem. As for the actual fight, JDS has the best boxing in the heavyweight division. Nogueira was able to rock Mir in their last fight, and only a critical mistake on the ground kept Mir from being finished, IMO. Dos Santos will beat Frank up on the feet and retain the belt. Cain vs Bigfoot Silva - Don't like this fight at all for Bigfoot. He's an ogre of a man, with a head shaped like a coconut. Unfortunately, I think his chin is somewhat subpar. Cain should be able to win this fight wherever it goes. Advantage in grappling and striking goes to Cain. Nelson vs Gonzaga - Don't think I've seen a fighter as puzzling as "Napao." Solid BJJ, good striking, unfortunately his striking defense is horrendous. Roy, conversely, has a chin that is part steel, part iron and part something else very hard. He can take a TON of punishment. A ground battle between these two would be fun, IMO, but I think Roy KO's Gonzaga. Hunt vs Struve - Perhaps the fight I'm most looking forward to. Hunt has seen a resurgence of late, but I don't consider Chieck Kongo much more than a really French punching bag. Struve may prove to be a very stern test. He's incredibly tall (6'11") and is well versed on the ground with incredibly long limbs, making for dangerous triangle chokes and armbar submissions. If Struve shows up with a good gameplan, I think he can beat Hunt.
May touch on the undercard later.

Matt, I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on how Mir beats Cigano. Just don't see it. (Biased because I hate Frank, but I'm trying to look at the fight objectively.)

Mir's boxing is HIGHLY underrated. JDS will still have the advantage on the feet, but I don't see him flat KOing Mir. If it goes to the ground, Mir has the advantage and has lots of crafty submissions. It's a toss-up IMO, but I give it to Mir because he has the experience.

Agree with you that Mir's boxing is underrated, but we're not talking about a chin of Nogueira here. JDS's boxing is in another stratosphere. On the other side of things, he can definitely take a shot. Moreover, Mir's weakness is his wrestling. Unless it's a wild scramble, I don't see JDS ending up on the ground. Should be a fun fight either way though.

I think Mir and Overeem would be a fun battle on the feet, but if Frank got him to the ground, it'd be over pretty soon I think. What do you think about Lombard going to the UFC?

Mir's been on a tear since Lesnar beat him up at UFC 100. Should be a hell of a fight.
"Anderson when I want your opinion i'll beat it out of ya.."

I love Bellator so it's hard to see him go. Lombard will beat most MW in the UFC, but I don't see him passing the top 5 anytime soon. Chael is hilarious, I love that guy.

I thought Chael's rap today was hilarious. "After I beat you, I'll leave Brazil a lot richer, but I'm not leaving until your old lady makes me that steak dinner!" I don't know if Anderson liked it as much as I did.

Chael needs to focus more on his submission defense and less on his WWE commentary.

JDS all the way Overeem looked like a complete joke against Werdum who has absolutely 0 striking ability. If anything, it was a stalemate on the feet. It's hard to compare anybody to Brock. Brock thought he was the MMA god before he actually got punched in the face by Cain, after that he became a complete bitch. Take a look at the guys Overeem has been beating as of late, Todd Duffee and Brett Rogers LOL!!!

First off Werdum has won 27% of his fights KO/TKO, so saying he possess "0 striking ability" is poppycock. And to say it was a stalemate on the feet is just wrong, Overeem never got caught and never was in any chance of danger, the only chance of danger was being in Fab's guard, And Overeem smartly made him stand back up most the fight, and Toyed with on the feet. Unless you were talking about the fight in Pride which would not make sense.
You can compare Brock to Bob Sapp, Both Athletic freaks who won on sheer Size and Strength and little technique, and when they ran into guys who had enough athleticism to hang and technique on point they were beaten.
Cain had to punch Brock in the face to make he quit, all Overeem had to do is land a kick to the body to make Brock realize he was in their with a different level of striker.
True Overeem has not been fighting the stiffest competition as of late. Brett Rogers should still be working at Evans Tires and beating up his wife, Todd Duffee is young kid that is still learnig the game, Werdum is a BJJ world champion, and Brock was an overrated champ.
But 4 first round KO/TKO in his last 5 fights is nothing to scoff at.

Comparing Brock to Sapp is funny because Sapp has been throwing fights lately and I've been saying Brock threw the Overeem fight. He wanted a quick couple mill and he got it.
