Amen, brother!!!
As I recall, didn't we pay some design company $40,000 to come up with that monstrosity?.....it still makes me cringe everytime I see someone like ESPN use it as our logo, however they are getting more and more away from it.

Historical accuracy is fine with me.

I'd rather see the block letter SDSU on the trailer hitch cover than the man eating bird!

Historical accuracy is fine with me. +1. It's way better and it's far more respectful and actual representation of the Aztec people. That "god-awful" Monty-head logo that some posters use on here is horrendous and is not accurate representation of Aztec physical or cultural appearance. When I see that one, I think Pacific Islander not Mexican/Amerindian people. The Eagle Aztec Warrior en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aztecs

The a circle is by far the worst. I actually like the ds state one. I think disgruntled Monty is my fave, but for espn logo... Ds state

The one that was used when I attended SDSU was clearly the best one.

Aside from people who can't see past the contrived racism/bigotry of Disgruntled Monty, everyone else sees the logo as a positive (or at least, not embarassing). As a compromise, we're stuck with a DS logo that has zero identity - not to mention is impossible to decipher when reduced in size (which TV programs/broadcasts frequently need to do). The mighty Eagle Aztec Warrior may have been a fearsome entity and I mean no disrespect to the culture, but the logo looks like something from a private 6 - 8 grade middle school.

Why didn't the athletic department consult ME when the chose a new logo.
I know which logo is the best.
There can be only ONE.

The only logo I care about is the one my team is wearing as I'm holding onto my beer for dear life and screaming profanities while cheering them on..

Same dilemma as USC. Most don't wear the USC gear with Tommy Trojan's head or body on it. They wear apparel with either block letter USC or SC Trojans(alternate athletic logo). Same w/ with SDSU. You don't have to wear the Eagle Aztec Warrior-head logo. SDSU block letter, "DS" and Speared-A Aztec logos are damn good alternate athletic logo. And they're working fine.

I take issue with you on 3 counts: 1. Someone is wearing the Eagle Warrior logo. 2. It doesn't look anything like something from a private 6-8 grade middle school. Furthermore, I'd like you to provide some evidence from any 6-8 grade middle school to back up your assertion. 3. The idea that "everyone" sees or agrees about anything 100% is simply untrue. No one is twisting anyone's arm. For the self appointed logo sheriffs among us, who don't have the good sense or taste to appreciate the Aztec Eagle Warrior logo, there are several other SDSU logos from which to choose.
