I know it has already been assumed, but has Baxter to SDSU been official yet? I don't remember ever reading it. They are working on his paperwork right now in the admins office.

Well, the kid did mess up on his academics, among other things. So, let's keep an open mind!

Ron, read up a few posts. And it has nothing to do with ASR. The national Rivals writers are the ones that control the rankings. Thanks Ryan, that does help explain what they did.

Hopefully we see some changes here shortly, I fully expect upgrades for quite a few of our commits.

Any guesses as to who might be our next verbal? This isn't based on any inside info, just based on following Rivals and Scout. We have offers out to these well-regarded and still available kids: S Devion Shelton, DT Dermonte Hood and WR Jonavaugh Williams. All have offers from Pac-12 and/or Big 12 schools but moving up to the Big East obviously increases our chances and as available schollies are exhausted elsewhere, that also increases our chances. Word is we want one more wideout so I would assume that if Williams goes elsewhere, we will offer Jake Maulhardt from the Ventura area or the Stribling kid from L.A.

SGF: I think you and I agree that the BIG issue holding us back from at least a winning season in 2012 is DL. We are pretty much ok inother positions both sides. We just can't rely on underclassmen, with no experience who have not shown the athleticism Rocky's scheme demands from a three man front. I await anxiously the last minute JC fix at DL,but I'm not really expecting that semi-miracle.

The young guys got a lot of playing time and showed flashes last year. Time for them to step up.

With another year in the weight program they can do some damage. They certainly will have their opportunity - lots of playing time to be had.

At DT we have to hope Galea'i is ready to step in and Meredith puts off mission.

Any guesses as to who might be our next verbal? Hope we can close out this year's recruiting class with a bang and not a whimper.

Hope we can close out this year's recruiting class with a bang and not a whimper. Devian Shelton committing to Oregon State was disappointing since it looked like we had a real shot at him. Looking at what's left, I would say Jonavaughn Williams now seems to be our best chance to land one more 3-star guy. Edit: Maybe also Robert Wagner, LB from Ontario, who apparently hasn't committed yet either.
