Having been involved with the program and the recruiting process for over 20 years, I can believe some of what might have happened to Cole. But I see nothing wrong with it. This happens all the time. Cole has another year to play and SDSU received commitments from other players that best suit the program. A verbal doesn't mean a thing. We lose players all the time who verbally commit to us. Hutson was probably his main recruiter ( he recruited LA heavy), and I don't see mention of UNLV, going after him now. It may have been Hutson who backed off. I've seen players that gave a verbal to a school only to find out that the school changed their mind only days before LOI. The Cole Huff Truth is that Cole has an entire year to prove his worth and find a school that best suits him. Welcome to the recruiting game. I wish him luck. This. Exactly.

Thanks for saying this the way so many of us also feel.

Elate Sporst just tweeted "Cole Huff is going to NEVADA #WOLFPACKGANG"
Looks like Cole will be a conference opponent of ours for the next 4 years.

Good for Cole. I look forward to following his career and wish him the best of luck against all teams other than SDSU.

Good lord, made it through 10 or so posts - this board can be incredible when it wants to be. Proud of Aztec Nation for calling it like it is (at least through 10 posts) - no one wishes any ill will to this kid.

Aztecs were willing to honor commitment but let Cole know he'd have a hard time competing for playing time. Cole commits to Nevada where he should see some playing time. Sounds like everything worked out.

Congrats to Cole. It's also great to see our future MWC mates (Nevada and Fresno) getting huge commits in the last few days.
In addition to Huff heading to Nevada ... Fresno landed 6'8 220 PF Braeden Anderson who singed with Kansas, but didn't qualify and will redshirt this year for Fresno and play in 2012. 4 star C, Robert Upshaw is also visiting Fresno this weekend and might be the 2nd piece to a class that puts the program on the map prior to joining the MWC.
