They had their fair share of douchebags. There was one fat kid in thier student section hurling obscenities at our little red section in the North end zone.

Is there a word for very nice and arrogant?
Also sandwich from zingermans was amazing. But don't think I would wait an hour for a 15 dollar sandwich regularly

Yeah, I didn't even make it over there. I tore up some Blimpy Burger though. That place was solid.

It was nice that there was a college bar scene. I was in a fraternity at SDSU, but knew that partying could be difficult if you weren't in a fraternity or had friends in one.
Being a little older i knew that crashing a fraternity party in Ann Arbor was probably out of the question. A local told me that with about $12 you could go out to the bars and get trashed. THis proved true. One of the places had $5 pitchers of Bud Light all night, and beers at most other bars were about $2-3 tops.
In addition to that you could get a Keystone, High life, or nati light keg for $48.99 at any liquor store in town.
I dont know if Ann Arbor can be beat in Sept, Oct, Nov....but i am not sure i would want to be there Dec, jan, feb, and march. SUpposedly the second half of june, all of july, and the first half of august have almost unbearable heat and humidity.

I actually think we outplayed michigan. They were able to break off a few monster plays that was the difference. My best analogy is that it looked like an awesome high school team (Michigan) played against an awful NFL team (SDSU). We actually play real football, and they rely on one or two guys that are really gifted runners. Hmmm...what game were you watching?

I was at the 50 yard line. Take away Michigans 3-4 really long runs and they didn't do much. Especially in the second half, Michigan was unable to hold the ball for a significant amount of time. Their style is similar to hs football. But way bigger stronger faster. Ours is like NFL except smaller weaker slower.

I was at the game up in the corner Section 7 and right in the middle of our fans. Came in Thursday and found the UM fans very friendly especially as we walked around their tailgate area at the High School and chatted with many of them. Can only remember being heckled once about my Marshall Faulk jersey but it was rather minor. Nice college town and very devoted fans. Had a great time at the Arbor Brewing Co. and Conor O'Neils Irish Pub.

Ann Harbor was ok and they did have a couple of a**holes. Besides that fat kid with the peach fuzz that looked like Chaz Bono, there was this other kid with a dress shirt and tie on that kept yelling at us in end zone and saying how San Diego was dump. I guess the kid has never seen downtown Detroit.

I sat in Section 1 (45 yard line) visitor (our) side and have to agree with the mellow crowd. I wouldn't say quiet, but mellow. Those fans around us didn't quite yell, but talked loudly through every chant. At least they did stand up, and get involved with every (and there were many) chants!
Rosey on the Drive today, stated the Big House seemed to be in HD! Have to agree with that' somehow everything seemed bigger, brighter, and clearer than anything here in SD! I still can't get all the green out of my head!
The fans around us were frienldy, but you could tell they loved their team. And knew what they had in Hoke! Some even thanked us for the "coach to be named later" in the Steve Fisher deal.
If Columbus/Madison are better I can't wait to get out there! This was an amazing trip! Blimpy's Burgers are amazing, but the hour twenty wait, was a bit much!

Great college town. I would love to go to school there...certainly in September and October, but not so sure about January and February. Campus is beautiful and large. Old stone and brick buildings. It oozes tradition. People were all friendly. Welcoming. Midwestern feel. Not once was anyone in my face or disrespectful - some Aztec fans could learn a few things as I mention below. They love Michigan football. Every single person was wearing Michigan gear, which isn't cheap. Finally, I was embarrassed by some of the jackasses who made the trip. Among others one stands out. We're down 21-0 and absolutely getting creamed when some tool starts yelling "Appalachian State" for like fifteen minutes. Really??? That was four years and two coaching staffs ago - and BTW it's totally unrelated to the ass-kicking being laid on us. The same tool then starts yelling something like "Obama is a loser" and "the Big 10 only plays non-BCS directional schools". The sad thing is the dude never realized the joke was on him. If you know this idiot please make him stay at home next time. Other jackasses were yelling things like "yea, at least we get to go home to San Diego while these people have to stay here", and one guy yelled "Hoke is a homo" while others laughed out loud. It was sad. Seriously, these Michigan fans love their team but they were nice, respectful and knowledgeable. I'm confident we came off looking crass to those unfortunate enough to sit near the small SDSU section. This is great to hear (in response to your time in Ann Arbor/Midwest). As for those SDSU jackasses in the stands amongst you, that greatly embarrasses me. We live for football in the Midwest, not just football, but our teams in general. We back them with religious support. It is only something to be witnessed and not told. Anyways, you're always going to have your one or two idiots at any game. Just too bad it was our guys.....saying some really retarded, college football I.Q. type comments.

I was there and i stayed with my friend who happened to live in sigma pi. i wore my sdsu gear everyday and no one said anything. I actually sat in the student section with my red sdsu shirt(section 32) and no one said anything when i had to run all the way up the stairs in the middle of everyone in yellow and blue. i was expecting to hear at least something but everyone seemed pretty nice

With the game aside... My buddies and I enjoyed ourselves. Ann Arbor was a great college town with a great football atmosphere. The fans were very nice and several people stopped us saying, "I hope you are having a good time and enjoying this."
The pregame tailgate was a good time. Free food and drinks, The Turley Band, got to meet the new Monty and the new president. Great effort!
We still compare everything to Columbus... That still tops the list. South Bend and Madison were not your typical "midwestern towns." We have fond memories of Seattle...
Blimpy Burger was great.

The stadium did seem cavernous, but not I would never have guessed 107k that day. As someone else stated, the Murph feels / seems more full when full occupied. I guess that has to do with how much louder it is than the Big House and how non-vertical the Big House is. But it was a great trip.
We played the U of M golf course on the Friday before the game. One of the better courses I've ever played. It is beautiful and we had the course to ourselves as it was supposed to be raining.
A great over all trip.......except for the damn game and our absolutely terrible showing on offense.
