I woke up this morning, took a shower and went downstairs to read the obituary er sports page. I noticed something strangely different in the living room, the 2000 pound dead elephant was gone. I could finally move about, I could see sun rise, I could smell the coffee brewing, I could stretch my legs. My life was good now since the elephant was gone and never to return.
Let's get on with recruiting, winning games, going to bowl games and enjoy our coaches and players. Life is good again.
I believe.........

Exactly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in sports years, shouldn't an era last longer than 22 months? I think the nomenclature you're looking for is "whistle stop." If so, then, yes, the Hoke Whistle Stop is over.

One howevershould be pissed at how he left, just not that he left!

I will miss his profound intellect, such as his leading statement in his post game interview last weekend:
It's good to win, it's bad to lose, therefore winning is good.
Adios y hasta la vista.

And I've never begrudged him the move to Michigan. I'd have done the exact same thing, given the $$$ and prestige involved. But I will call a spade a spade. And I don't have to like the guy. And it's within my purview to point out that he was only here for 22 mos. It's not like he came here, won over the entire community, built a national powerhouse and then bailed. He stopped by for a cup of coffee, did O.K. (not fabulous) and then sneaked off in the middle of the night after tossing a twenty on the nightstand.

Worse yet he took most of "The hole in the donut gang" with him!

Not here its not (if Craft and Long threads are any indication) It's over for me. Unlike others I don't begrudge the man for taking his dream job. Nor do I fault him for the timing of his departure since responsibility for that goes to Michigan's moron of an AD. Plus, exactly what damage did Brady do to the football program? Seems to me he did nothing but positive things. The same can't be said of his two predecessors. Not by a Long shot. (Apologies for the bad pun.)

We both move on.

The students were out of school. Brady was out of town. Q. What is the right way to leave when you have just accepted a new job and have now new loyalties?

Q. What is the right way to leave when you have just accepted a new job and have now new loyalties? Well... You put your right foot in, You put your right foot out; You put your right foot in, And you shake it all about. You do the Hokey-Pokey, And you turn yourself around. That's what it's all about!
