Yes, its an exaggeration, but geeeesh, Just because Lindley is an "NFL prospect" does not mean he shouldn't be benched if he's having an off game. He's shown time and time again that he cannot dig this team out of a hole. Let someone else try, or, do what we did against Washed up state and start running the ball. <<He's shown time and time again that he cannot dig this team out of a hole.>> Hmmm, last week our boys were down by 10 and they ran off 28 straight. Does that qualify as digging out of a hole. This was a bad bad game, but we will come back. GO AZTECS the reason we won at Washedup state was because we decided to start running the ball. Lindley had nothing to do with it. sorry, pal.

Well, remember, a lot of us have been living with Aztec football disappointment in big games for over 3 decades. That wears on you after a while. Yes, if you can't take the heat of an official game thread, then stay out. Yeah, fair weather fans are watching the game and typing at the same time. Many will come around after a cooling off period after the game, but this is the passion and true voice of how fans are feeling at the time. The problem is that the true fair weather fans may jump off the bandwagon after this one. This. To repeat, nobody should have expected us to win today because history has shown that SDSU simply can't win in front of 100K+ opponents' fans. However, that doesn't mean we can't put up a BIG win in our next game in two weeks against TCU. Of course, thousands of casual fans now won't come to see it. (Oh well.)

slymer, how many times did you see Lindley stand in the pocket and hold the ball the extra second or two and risk taking a hit to make a play?
I saw a guy who looked gun shy and looked frankly like he didn't want to get hit. You can call it 12 year old whining or you can watch the game and tell me what you saw.
Lindley was atrocious today and was awful in the 1st half against WSU as well. If you don't think so, frankly I would have to question if you know anything about football or are just another blind homer. Because it was obvious.

Losing our wideouts to injury was a pretty big setback. Lockett did pretty well as our speed threat & Denso is a posession receiver, they need more Clarke would have helped! We are unable to stretch the field. The Lindley/Lockett duo is not yet on the same page. The week off will help a ton.

I would like to see Rocky deck Fat Brady at midfield after the game. Why?

It's sounds like a 12 year old kid whining after a loss. No doubt that those are not good comments. Can't condone everyone's choice of words, but this is stream of thought passion as it happens. Similar to calling people fair weather fans who have a negative opinion of the team's performance in the heat of the moment and express it.

I understand that Lindley is OUR senior QB, but if we cant be objective about his performance, we're fooling ourselves.

I am irritated with the way he left San Diego and thought he disrespected the school. But that comment was over the top, my apologies.

What I learned today. Lindley is overrated and our fans are starting to see it. He has a great strong arm but his accuracy is bad. Accuracy and bad reads make his completion percentage low. His wide receivers don't always help. Hillman is our offense. We need to stick with him and not get in a hole. Our defense comes out every game flat and out coached. They always pick it up the second half.
Would have been a nice win but TCU is more important. Our team will play better. I still think we beat ourselves more than Michigan beat us. Michigan is a mid level Big 10 team and it will show moving forward. If we can make some adjustment over the next two weeks we could still compete for a MWC championship.

The Aztecs were outcoached and outplayed in the first half and the offense did not take advantage of the opportunities it was presented with by its defense in the second half.
Ryan did not play well, Hillman's fumbles were disappointing, and the offensive line was weak throughout.
Most disappointing to me was Rocky's failure to use his time outs at the end of the first half when Michigan was at the Aztecs goal line.

I wasn't defending him. He had a bad game. I thought the comments directed towards him sounded like they were coming from a 12 year old kid.
Besides Lindley having a bad game - Our pass protection was s#!++y. Hillmans 2 fumbles were obviously huge Costly penalties at the worst possible times Our D really settled down and played pretty decent after falling down 21-0
And yes, I am a blind homer.

You just have to accept the majority of fans of all teams are of the Al Bundy variety, except they never scored 5 touchdowns in a high school game. They are sure they know more about football than Long and Ludwig, are sure they would make better decisions and throw more accurate passes than Lindley (if only they were given the chance), and would have protected the ball better than Hillman. They are sure they can do everything better than anyone else, because they've never actually tried to do anything, and hence have never made a mistake. After the next win they'll complain that the media is ignoring the greatness of the Aztecs because there is a conspiracy against MWC teams, complain that Lindley isn't listed among the top 5 quarterbacks, and complain that Hillman isn't considered a Heisman candidate.
