.07 is just under the legal limit (for those who are of drinking age). So had he been 21 when this occurred, it would be a non-issue.
Not implying anything one way or the other, just making the observation.
*EDIT* _ now see this was clearly pointed out in the article, making this post even more pointless. Sorry, its Friday. I'm avoiding work at all costs.

I laughed at the "irregardless" comment and props to the reader who made it. Not only did Zeigler use a misnomer, his editor apparently was ignorant of that fact too. Just the latest example of the poor journalism out there these days.
(In the interests of disclosure, I'm no fan of Zeigler. He was the clown who editorialized during the Chuck Long era that SDSU should drop football. I wonder if he still has that opinion.)

It happens, but not all the time and rarely when the drug is alcohol. Our Country and States send a mixed message about adulthood.

hopefully Franklin will learn his lesson and we will see him on the court within 4 or 5 games of the start of the season.
We need the whole team on the court so that they can get used to playing as a team.

Has Michael Floyd missed a game this season at Notre Dame? A suspension, yes. A missed game, I think not.

3 games. My guess is that the exhibition games will not count.
It will be the "tournament" that he misses.
Then, he will be breathing fire and ready to roar vs. Baylor, etc.

After reading this ... it must be frustrating for Jamaal, the team and the coaches because, although he was busted for a DUI ... in only a few months he could do the exact same thing with no repercussions.
We still don't know the whole story, but I'm very surprised it was only a 0.7 at 4:15 AM (I expected a much higher BAC based on the time of night). For all we know ... he was partying and actually tried to sleep it off (being smart and responsible) before driving .. he then woke and decided it was safe.
I definitely don't condone drinking and driving (although I've done it many times) .. and I don't condone underage drinking (although I was once busted for a minor in possession) ... but 0.7 for a 20+ year old? I understand he'll have to take his punishment like a man ... but I'm less disappointed after knowing the facts.

It's just absurd, and it's the absurdity of the law in that old men make them and we hold a teenager/20 year old to a higher standard than the rest of the population, if that's not backwards, I don't know what is.

Not so bad. Worst case scenario is that he misses the three game tourney against those crappy teams.

I know what would be backwards, allowing those who don't understand the higher standard necessary for that age group that has more accidents and more deaths related to drunk driving to make the laws - thank goodness for wise old men!
