Let's just say you are wrong. Wink, wink. Just a conversation and nothing more. Things come up in a conversation between two people all the time. I think the safe bet is to remove all mention of what a "coach" stated. What do you not understand about no coaches name was mentioned?

What do you not understand about no coaches name was mentioned? This issue isn't which coach, but just a "coach" in general could lead to issues of tampering/violation. Not against the rules to have conversations with people. A lot of schools will be interested in this player.

How is it tampering if the nli was null and void?

It is if that info is then posted in a public forum and was conveyed by someone charged to operate under those "rules".

phillip and aztectom have a proven track record. Trust what they say.
That said, I hope no confidences were breached in connection with this thread. If so, delete this thing pronto.

Do coaches comment on recruits potential locations prior to NLI's? No, not to the public. You are the public

He is not a transfer and as soon as the the NCAA said they had to retake the three classes, the NLI was null and void. If there was an eligibility issue there, wouldn't there be an eligibility issue here?

If there was an eligibility issue there, wouldn't there be an eligibility issue here? The Big East might have stricter requirements than the MWC. An example of this happening this year was with the 7'4 2011 recruit who signed with Xavier, but didn't qualify, and ended up at New Mexico St where he can play immediately. Kansas is also going through a similar issue with a 6'8 2011 PF recruit. After getting Young stolen from us ... I would love to steal this kid from them.

If there was an eligibility issue there, wouldn't there be an eligibility issue here? That is why he is going to a prep school. A 5th year of high school means he comes out next year all purified by the additional year. A new NLI and still has 4 years to play 5.

Per Pelle's twitter it sounds like he is at least coming for a visit...and it could mean more than a visit. The other poster has it right....Pelle asked Spencer if Spencer was going to SDSU... Spencer said yes.... Pelle replied, "Fasho." .... which means for sure. Anyway, while I love the sound of what I'm hearing, Pelle's Twitter says nothing about Pelle coming for a visit. It just shows that he's asking Spencer (who he played HS ball with), if Spencer is going to be an Aztec. I'd expect him to visit, but nothing in there suggests that (YET!).
