Okherewego. The Big Ten has all sorts of TV agreements. Those agreements are probably made where ESPN/ABC have major input on what games are on what channels, at what times. The Big Ten and ABC/ESPN do not do the mornic thing like the MWC and lock in all game times and channels 4 months in advance. They lock in a handful of games ahead of time and leave the rest of the matchups as TBA. They do this in order to maximize exposure for the conference. They annouce all TBA matchups 12 to 6 days in advance of the game.
The SDSU/Michigan tilt was listed as TBA for six months before they announced the time and channel today. ESPN and the Big Ten have considered all the storyline and possiblities of both teams being 3-0. It should be obvious that given the time and channel that the game is on, that the Big Ten and ESPN didn't see much potential in the game. I'm also thinking that at least one or two Michigan home games has to appear on BTN per season so they probably saw the E. Michigan and SDSU home dates as a good way to fufill that obligation while leaving the possiblity of more important Michigan games to end up on more important networks later on in the season.
And just so we're all clear here. If the game is produced and broadcast on BTN, you donate $50 to Aztec Club. If the game ends up being produced and broadcast by ABC/ESPN/ESPN2/ESPN U/ESPN Classic/ESPN Deportes, I will donate $300 to Aztec Club. ESPN Goal Line and "Live look-ins" don't count. Are you comfortable with that?

We have a deal that if the game is not aired by ABC/ESPN/ESPN2/ESPN U/ESPN Classic/ESPN Deportes I will donate $50 to the Aztec club. If it is, you owe $300. Can I put the $50 toward the lifetime membership I was going to buy?

Ready for some homers to call this one? Well it's the Big 10 Network calling one of the most storied and historic universities in college football against a team 3,000 miles away that has only ever been relevant for Don Coryell and Marshal Faulk. If the Mtn were to air SDSU basketball vs Campbell University, do you think they would give a whole lot of a $#!+ about Campbell?

Notre Dame vs. Pitt is on ABC, but nothing is scheduled on ESPN yet.
There are a couple of good games TBD, such as LSU vs. West Virginia and Florida State vs. Clemson. The games scheduled for 9 PST are pretty weak

So somebody asking a yes/no question and me answering 'no' is a smart ass answer? Thanks for the compliment. Your $50 to my $300. Final offer. Either way, SDSU wins. If you read into those odds, those would be the "chances" that I would be wlling to "bet" that ESPN picks up the game. I'm sorry, but an answer to someone's question as just "No." without a reason comes off as arrogant to me. People occasionally do that to me on my comments or thoughts and it drives me crazy. Why not just let the question poster know why you think not? In terms of your bet: Ok, I'll put up $50. I can afford it and you are right, it is a win-win for the school. I have no idea whether or not this game will be picked up by ESPN. That's the reason why I was curious. And when I say ESPN, I mean ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN U. But if somehow it is shown on the ESPN family of networks instead of the Big10, I would love to see you fork over $300. Make sure you send me a pic of your receipt. I will do the same. Now that I committed to the bet, can you enlighten me as to why you think there is no way this will happen? Do you work for the network? Please advise. Hey buddy, didn't you ask a YES or NO question? Geez. Funny thing is he's right. ESPN isn't going to pay the BigTenNetwork for an SDSU @ Michigan game. They'll likely show LSU vs. WVU, EMU vs. Penn State or CMU vs. Michigan State in that time slot, games they already own the rights to. Get with the program LOL.

Could it be on ESPN3?
Edit: Not listed on ESPN3's list of games for 9/24. How about channel 4 for Cox?
