this is getting ridiculous Summer of '73 I lived a block from Sunset Cliffs on Santa Cruz. Didn't see the sun a single day the entire summer. =Bob

I'll take it over 105 degrees in Poway.. Mid-90s the last few days in Montreal. My wife is very happy she ran into problems renewing her passport. It is miserable there when the temps get that high since it's on an island in a very big-ass river. =Bob

Damn this global warming... ;D I was surprised that an AP story about the heat back East didn't once mention Global Warming. I did find the table below interesting. The 28 years from 1930-1957 we had 13 years in which a 100+ degree temperature was recorded in Central Park. From 1958-2009 we had 52 years in which only 9 years had 100+ degree temperatures. So I guess we are due a little heat. Note that the all time (recorded) record was in 1936 at 106 degrees. Not surprising, the 1930s was the hottest decade on record in the US. Of course this is the raw data from the thermometers before it is "adjusted" to reflex preconceived notions about what "should be".

enough already. beaches are empty Not sure why that's a problem. When I lived in OB I wouldn't go near the beach until around 5 in the afternoon because by that time all the outlanders were heading home with their whining kids and the beach was open to those of us who lived there. =Bob

for one, no one is spending any money. two, I like to ride the bike down the oceanfront taking in the "sights". Not sure why that's a problem. I've been here since 1976. I don't remember the gloom lasting this long before.

I like the cooler weather and wish it would last longer, but the last couple days it's started to warm up a little bit and we'll probably start getting normal La Mesa summer temps soon.

I've been here since 1976. I don't remember the gloom lasting this long before. But it hasn't "lasted" this long. It just started late. Late May and early June were April-like.

I miss the 67 degree days with no one at the beach. Makes parking for diving much better.
I thought Zonies were boycotting San Diego? Seems the heat melted their will.
