I like "The Madhouse on the Mesa" Me too. Opposing teams have said this place is one of the loudest and toughest places to play at. If you ever been to the game and sat in the student section then you know how much of a madhouse it is Yeah its is good - but maybe a little long? How about - The Asylum (does anyone have that one already?) Or Mesauface - but might it offend the Italians

We are real hard to beat at home now and we have been for years. It is only going to get tougher for foes at Fisherville.

Most people I talked to seemed to like it.

Fightnaztec, as a SDSU history minor, I feel it is my duty to help you in your quest to educate the ignorant heathens on here, (aka the SDSU engineering, business, and psychology majors). Let's start with the game you referenced, known as "ullamaliztli". How's this for starters...?? "It is said that the ball represented the head of a sacrificed victim. In Tenochtitlan, the ball court was at the foot of the bloodstained stairs of the temple, and the ball game itself would often be a scene of sacrifice. It is believed that the losing coach, or even the whole team, might be sacrificed. Some historians have disputed this - because it was an honour to be sacrificed, it may have been the winning team that lost their lives. "www.aztec-history.com/aztec-ball-game.htmlHere's to Victory!!

[random tangent] There are a couple of songs with "Show" in the lyrics that might be fun to play during the pre-game... (hell, they might as well play something during that hour beforehand...) Pink Floyd - In The FleshSo ya / Thought ya / Might like to go to the show... www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8jDGg06GfAEmerson Lake and Palmer - Karn Evil 9, 1st Impression, Part II (aka "Come And See The Show")"Welcome back my friends to The Show that never ends/ We're so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside..." www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZcYP00b2FIAnd for you Old School fans out there... Waiting for Aztecpanther Erik to chime in now saying hip hop is not real music (I've been meaning to get to your thread on your vista records site debating on whether hip hop is real music.)

I think this is stupid. "How about we sacrifice a ceremonial chicken to please the ancient Aztec gods" or "kidnap someone who is of Mayan decent and behead them on an altar before tip off, just like the Aztec priests would do". (insert wiki link here) It's a basketball game....and Kansas State is already the Octagon of Doom (if anything, we're the "Madhouse on the Mesa"). Be more worried about sending Alford's Lobos out of Viejas with their tails between their legs and how we're going to shut down Fredette, Davies and Emery on the 26th. Great post. Got a good laugh!

I like "The Madhouse on the Mesa" My choice as well. This board could be called that at times. Especially when the discussion involves a creature called Zuma. By the way, thank you to those in charge for deleting those discussions.

By the way, thank you to those in charge for deleting those discussions. This place is certainly a madhouse, as well as Viejas Arena. For the life of me though, I can't understand why Zuma topics would be deleted. Isn't Zuma Aztec related and isn't this an Aztec message board?
