I don't think Utah did anything tricky. They just put an athletic guy on him that was taller and longer. That height and length made it tougher to get around and over the defender, then they had a 7'er waiting in the lane.
Fisher might want to see if Boylen found something like UCLA did.
GO AZTECS!

I think we should place Tapley on him. He is athletic and a good defender and did a pretty good job defending Jimmer. He even got a steal off him during the few minutes he was guarding him.

Tapley is a bit longer and bigger than DJ, and it seems like Jimmer is bothered by guys who can match his size. DJ is an outstanding defender but Jimmer is bigger and is surprisingly strong for his size. Tapley might be the best on ball defender the Aztecs have and there are a number of reasons why he should get the primary assignment on Jimmer.

What do you think about rotating guys to cover Jimmer then hammer him if he trys to drive the lane...we would have to give up some fouls but think making the game rougher on Jimmer could outweigh the risk.

From The Desertrat News: "With less than one minute remaining, referee Mike Reed implored Rose to take Fredette, who was clearly frustrated, out of the game."
"(Reed) just wanted to make sure the game ended on a positive note," Rose explained.
WTH? Is this the refs call to counsel the HC re: his players? If the Yoots were thumping Jimmer call the fouls but why try to coach the coach??

Chasing Fredette around is tiring and I think we need the offense and ball control of DJ. I would rotate big guys on him like White and Franklin .. but more importantly go at him on offense. The more he works on D, the less he has on the offensive side.

I'd even give J. Franklin a crack at him due to his height & long reach! I like this idea - it worked for Tony Snell in the New Mexico game.

believe we have 2 games to play before they start looking at the game plan for Jimmer and the Fredetts- UNM- will be looking for a big win and @afa another altitude game

They're the highest of the high goats. We always have problems up there and they're now a more focused team without Schroyer. After the way we beat their ass in Viejas, this could be a trap game. Fisher will have to use all of his bench. There are no easy wins left. Even AFA.

And round two will be crazy. I have a friend in security at Viejas and he says that security will be nearly double a usual game. I hope we run them out.

And BYU's only serious weapon is a cyBORG named Jimmer.
