Yes, I know Aztecs have done very well in this series of late and are a better team, but this is a very important game to UNLV and SDSU has some injuries to deal with. Willis and Marshall have been playing well for Rebels and Rahon will have his toughest defensive assignment yet. Of course, Rebels also have a problem as they have been running a 3 guard lineup for the most part and will have to guard White or Leonard with someone like Willis or Marshall or Jasper, with Stanback guarding the other. Otherwise, they'll give more playing time than they want to give to Massamba or Lopez.
Should be a good game, but both Rebels and Aztecs should be nervous about this one.

Unlike the game here, UNLV is unlikely to miss 17 or 18 three point shots on their home floor, but I have to believe we will get them in the end - so to speak.

We have owned UNLV for a few years now home and away. It will continue today. Billy will be on a mission coming home to Vegas.

I think DJ is going to drain the 3's and J Franklin is going to have a monster game.

UNLV needs this game. A loss here pretty much takes them out of the dance. Krueger's job could be in jeopardy as well. UNLV knows there is a sense of urgency riding on this game.

Wrong...a loss here does no damage to their profile...but a win likely locks them up...that is big difference. Right now CSU and NM are on the bubble and they are not even close to UNLV in terms of profile.

This was one of a few I knew our guys would have to really work to win. Hopefully our fans can out yell that annoying Reb-Bels chant and take them out of the game! RoadShow! Make us proud! I'll be watching it live at 4am!

I acutally think we will win (but would not be surprised if we don't). I just don't think UNLV can deal with our inside game. Remember, even though UNLV only made 1 of 18 3s...we only hit 4 of our 17, so really both teams struggled.
I just think we are the better team and SDSU plays very well at the T&M.

Their RPI is 25 and even a loss to SDSU (#5) wouldn't kill them. They've got good wins over Wisconsin, VT and at Kansas State. Their resume is pretty good and if they just take care of business the rest of the way at home and steal a game at CSU or UNM they'll be fine. But a win tonight would likely lock them into the dance but I think they're in anyway barring a total meltdown.

Nervous time....yes, for UNLV. Today for the Aztecs is "SHOW ME TIME". We are 1 point underdogs in today's paper (LA Times). Talk about a lack of respect! We are 24-1, ranked 6th and playing an unranked team on their home floor (where we play well). If we are as hungry as them, we win. Today is the day people can stop doubting us. I really hope Fisher makes sure we know we are underdogs today. If I were in Vegas today, the money would be flying on the Aztecs!!!!!
FYI, I don't usually bet on our guys (and would NEVER bet against us). Last time I did bet on us, it was a roadie in Vegas where we were underdogs and won by double digits. And I had a similar feeling as I do right now. Today, we make them quit! Today, we show them what a complete basketball team is all about. Today, we have a better plan to handle the full court pressure and DJ's new found confidence in taking the ball to the hoop will be a difference maker. DJ will be a key again...and although he didn't turn it over much in Viejas, he'll counter that pressure better, rather than avoid the turnover, he'll avoid the turnovers AND make them pay for trying to pressure him.
Expect big games from Kawhi, Billy, Malcolm, Carlwell, Rahon and DJ.
I believe that we will WIN (by double digits)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, I'm pumped for this one

If the Aztecs can go into the Pit and win, they can get it done at UNLV.
I believe....Aztecs team of Destiny.

For UNLV .. this is where they have to draw the line in the sand. They have to be looking ahead to games at NM and at CSU. While a loss to us might not knock them out, losing 3 of their next 6, probably will.
They have been trying to work inside out getting Q Thomas going early (14 and 10 last game) to open up the outside. Stanback and Bellfield will be the keys though ... they could easily make 10 3- pointers or go 1 for 10. If their shots are falling and crowd gets into it .. it will be tough. We'll probably need a game like we played at NM to pull this one out.

To say i am nervous is an understatement! I have a feeling we will win and could be by double digits like adfrank thinks. If you are not nervous ...you don't care IMO.
