 Madison FB used ineligible player?

If so, a real injustice to Valley Center who would have likely played in the State title game.

The CIF is a joke and I cannot wait until Ackerman goes away.

I replied with what I know and think to DShawfan in a PM. Let us just say that Ackerman knew about this since early in the season and this is the outcome. Not only does Valley Center suffer, but the majority of the Madison kids and that community must have a hollow feeling about this as well.

This is horse s***! Another example of North County favoritism. If they cleared him twice during the season WTF is the problem now?

Looks like it was wrong to clear him and Ackerman knew that. I agree that it is hors s***, but maybe not for the same reason. That was just as good a football team with eligible players!

My biggest issue with this is that the CIF cleared the kid to play. Madison would NOT have played him if the CIF hadn't cleared him. So the CIF is now playing Lucy to Madison's Charlie Brown.

That's horsebleep.

The San Diego CIF clears him and tells Madison to go ahead and play him, and then they want to strip Madison of the title because Madison did what the CIF told them to do a few months earlier??

Come on...

What facts could possibly be hidden, unless he registered at a false address and lived with an uncle so he could play ball for Madison. Stuff like that used to happen a lot years ago.

As far as his eligibility:

IF the boy was living with his family in the Madison school area and his parents did not want to continue to pay for him to go to a private school that should be all there is to it, because the state can not compel the parents to send the child to a private school when he was not registered in this district previously.

Once enrolled in the school if his residence is legal and his age is appropriate, he should be allowed to play if his GPA meets requirements.

All interesting and all, but a couple of things should not have been overlooked in the melee. Madison won the game and the participation of that kid had little or nothing to do with the outcome. The flu and key injuries we more instrumental in deciding the outcome. Those things happen and I think Madison and Valley Center are both victims of a poorly run Section CIF. Madison won and should not suffer for an inept Section that could not get to the bottom of an issue that really had little to do with how that game and probably the rest of Madison's great season.
