Read an interesting article about the decline of PAC-12 basketball and one of the coaches cited their switch from ESPN to FOX caused their decline because the national exposure declined sharply and they were unable to fill the void by players that left for NBA. The interesting thing is this article was found on FOXSPORTS website. Makes me feel more comfortable about out move to Big West though. ESPN will be 100 X better than the Mountain Network.

I'm not really buying it since so many kids transferred to MWC schools with a worse TV deal and many top HS recruits continue to sign with the Aztecs, Lobos & Rebels.

I guess the rise in MWC hoops then is because the MTN is better than Fox - no one makes excuses like the Pac

I don't think the change in their TV contracts forced several Pac-12 schools make atrocious decisions to fill coaching vacancies.

bull$#!+. UCLA is still landing top recruits and Arizona has the fourth best class. They just can't coach them up.

Arizona will be fine, UCLA has its obvious issues, but look at programs like Cal and Oregon. Everything considered they should be getting better recruits.

I agree 100%, and I think the Pac-12 is due to so many players leaving early. Some to the NBA, others transferring away.

This is the beauty of NCAA mens basketball. The Pac has bragging rights because of their history, but RPI and SOS are the real contemporary measuring sticks. That's how those blowhards like Cal's Mike Montgomery get called out. The Pac will come back alright, but SDSU and our colleagues from the historically "lesser" conference, are showing signs of surpassing them even when they make their comeback. It's really important to go deeper in the Big Dance annually to establish the reputation that we need. After last year, so far so good.

We will be on Fox SD. That is fine. What has ESPN ever done for SDSU?
I cannot stand that network.

With this move to the Big Worst, Aztec fans outside of SD County are screwed. I live in south Orange County and have seen maybe one or two Big West games available for viewing on ESPN. At least with the Mountain (as sucky as it is) you can watch every Aztec game on TV.

Was that article in ESPN news? LOL.
West Coast basketball has been down overall recently in basketball and the PAC 10 had numerous players leave early to the NBA. I seriously doubt Fox had anything to do with it. Also, with the new money the PAC 12 is getting they will be getting top coaches and the teams will get better soon.
