Washington DL DE - T. Chrichton - 6-3 264 - 5tkls - 5.6 DT - A. Hudson - 6-3 249 - 24tkls 5tfl 3.5sks - 5.7 NT - D. Shelton - 6-1 317 - 11tkls - 5.8 RE - J. Shirley - 6-3 230 - 28tkls 12tfl 8.5 sks- 5.8 AVG - 6-2.5 265 Our OL is a bit larger than theirs and our DLs are almost the exact same size across the board. Shirley is the biggest threat in the passing game but from what I saw on the couple games I watched of theirs last year he's a liability against the run. We "should" be able to run against these guys and if we can, I like our chances. The last number is the Rivals rating for each player so you can see the supposed talent gap between the units.

I just read this week that their center is only 286 pounds and one of their guards is about the same weight. Can't remember where I saw that depth chart. Also their two DT weighed well over 310 pounds. So if what I read is accurate we are much bigger as an OL and they are much bigger as a DL. I'll try to find the depth chart I was looking at.

Hell I can't find it right now. Either way we are bigger on OL and they are bigger on DL.

I was very happy with what I saw out of Meredith on the scrimmage - shed blocks at the line of scrimmage and scrapped down the line (job 1 and 2 of a nose man: own the middle, eliminate cut backs)

They have good size and talent, they just need seasoning and this is how they'll get it.

I get the idea of eliminating cut backs but you can explain in detail the "scrapping". Thanks Monty or whoever anwsers.

I'm guessing but is it pursuing the ball carrier while watching for the cutback to the back side? School me please?

Smaller O linemen make a better rushing game. Big hogs are better for pass blocking.

flowing to the ball laterally down the line of scrimmage Thanks Monty. Just read that Nebraska will be starting 3 walk on's on their Oline this year in case anyone wants to say anything about having high stars on the oline. Stars are a gauge but ultimately you have to earn a starting position and prove you belong on the D1 level.

Nebraska has been starting 'walk-on's' on the oline my entire life either they are just incredible across multiple staffs at finding lineman or something is afoot.
