But, for the first time in my life time, BYU NEEDS to try and beat us. The shoe is finally on the other foot!
Now, go and blow em' out, make us all delirious.

As Walton said in the paper, the Aztecs have to "explode" out of the gates and not fall behind. And as they did at the Pit,take the crowd out of the game.Make them a non-factor. We can beat them there.

Our best win was against UNLV? I believe that we beat a team on the road in Spokane.

From an RPI standpoint our best win was UNLV. From a rankings standpoint our best win was St. Mary's. From a quality of team standpoint our best win was Gonzaga. Also, WTF on the FG%? We are one of the best teams in the country in FG% (both offensively and defensively). kenpom.com/team.php?team=San%20Diego%20St.

Also, both teams still have one more game before our big match up and their is A LOT tougher.

The BozoYU posters are so uneducated stating that we haven't really played anyone. They should read the writeups comparing our win resume to that of the rest of the top 5. I like the article that someone posted that shows that our resume should put us at #1 or #2.
I also like this comment:
"UCLA had great interior passing and their shooting percentage was very good, unlike SDSU's style of play."
Yup...we really suck on passing (e.g. Malcolm) and all those interior slams really don't help our shooting percentage. Funny! Obviously they have not watched us. He must be referring to our outside shooting percentage from last year.

It doesn't matter what the fans say, check the coaches poll and media. Last time I checked, no one (outside of Provo) is wondering if BYU should be ranked #1...

Yeah, if you don't get any first place votes, you suck. Not about the first place votes, just the recognition that each team is receiving. San Diego State is getting more recognition as a TEAM, BYU is getting recognition for a single player. Looking at the polls (fwiw), the Aztecs are consistently ranked above the Cougs by the coaches and media. There are a couple of recent articles within the last week where some writers were making the observation that the Aztecs had a more valid claim to be at #1 than the teams above them... Just sayin'.

I would hope so. SDSU is undefeated and has an incredible team.

Yup...we really suck on passing (e.g. Malcomb) and all those interior slams really don't help our shooting percentage. Funny! Obviously they have not watched us. He must be referring to our outside shooting percentage from last year. In that game UCLA shot 51.1% on their 2 point shots. SDSU's season average on 2 point shots is 55.1% #9 in the country. UCLA's season average is 51.3 #58 in the country. BYU lost the UCLA game because Jimmer had a terrible game. It was not the UCLA offense that lost that game. Jimmer was 2-8 shooting 3s and had 7 turnovers (BYU 19 turnovers). I understand why BYU fans would want to credit UCLA but it was them. They play a style that relies too much on one guy. If he has an off night they have a good chance of losing. BYU will be forced to play their 2-3 zone for a good portion of the game. This is because their inside men are not sufficient to defend us alone and Davies in particular fouls a lot. He has already fouled out of 3 games. In the past they used the 2-3 zone as a change-up defense. We never really had a chance to adjust. If they use it for extended periods, I think the Aztecs will begin to tear it apart and make their feelings about UCLA look muted compared to their new found respect for our interior passing. Our big men have 133 assists already - they pass very well.

Maybe they didn't get the memo?

Let BYU think we are overrated and they are the best thing since sliced bread. BYU fans will always have a warped sense of superiority. All that really matters is the final score.
As far as BYU honk Jeffacka's opinion about Gonzaga being average, he probably doesn't know the details of that team. They have been riddled with injuries from key players this year when we played them healthy and at their house. For someone that just looks at overall records, I can see how he could come to that conclusion, even though Gonzaga is currently still in the Top 30.

Saint Mary's is much better.
