In regards to the point, X will be the main guy running the point
I find it very surprising anybody would suggest he might not. Before X tweaked his knee, he was playing great. I don't think he was ever 100% thereafter and it showed in his ability to drive the lane. However, since the injury wasn't serious enough to require surgery, you have to think he'll be feeling great and I'm expecting him to be as good this year as DJ was as a senior. Not as good from behind the arc maybe, but a superior assist guy.
Yep, Final Four and Shep playing some 1. Fisher is a man of his word and Winston is a great passer and I can tell you the players are also already talking about making that Final Four run.
Winston will be a lot more useful off the ball. Think of Pao Gasol like passing from the post. Aztecs will need Thames to control the ball to get into the lane. Winston is a good handler and great passer, but him cutting into the paint as a point guard could be a turnover problem. Shep dribbling the ball up in transition...yes. Shep primary point guard with Thames on the bench....I'll believe it when I see it. He'll need his energy for defending the opposing teams top players.
Now tell us how Winston broke Findlay's single season record for assists you genius.. we are sure u break assists records at findlay by playing off the ball

Nigel Williams Goss a.k.a the "General" led that team all year at the point. Dominic Artis also ran the point.
Now tell me why you can't get assists because you aren't a PG? How does Lebron James get 8 assists a game? Transition offense, good vision and being unselfish....genius.

Exactly, u made my point.. u don't get that many assists playing "off the ball" or "in the post like Pau Gasol"... genius

Do you not understand what I mean by "off the ball" ? Winston is very good moving off the ball. His talent would be restricted as a PG. Gasol like passing from the post...understand that? He is very good at finding players making cuts or drawing the defense into the paint and finding the open shooter. Stop being a smart ass and try to soak up the information I'm teaching you.
Findlay Prep assist record has been broken almost every season in its short 5 year history. Great achievement, but nothing crazy. Also, Pao Gasol just had 11 assists a few games ago...He wasn't running PG.

Lol at this.. Dude, u actually brought up a good comparison in Lebron, who i wouldn't call an "off the ball" player because he is the primary ball handler on the half court... Shepard leads fastbreaks whenever he gets an opportunity, brings the ball up the court, breaks defenders off the dribble and dishes the ball, defends perimeter players including some point guards.. none of these skills resembles Gasol's game.
So even though he is not the traditional pg ( which i'm not saying he is), he does play the role of being the primary playmaker, and he will sure play some minutes at the pg spot. Think Jalen Rose.. a SF-PG type.
I asked Winston on the Aztecs Wild West radio show if Fisher told him he could play some point and he said yes. Fisher is a man of his word. So you will see Winston playing some point and he has the skills and passing ability to play it. He is a team guy and is always looking to dish the rock.
That is one of many positions Winston can play because of his excellent talent, and he can play any of the postiions, 1-5. It makes it easy for Fisher to plug him in where ever he is needed most.
And, since he can pass well it will not matter where he is playing. He can dish it off to anyone from any place he is, and make a play. A player like him on the court makes everyone better, and tougher for the opposition to guard.

When he gets a rebound and pushes the ball, that's when he'll be playing point guard. Him and Jamaal both.

I could see Lbf Getting the same minutes as X. I have been to arc just about every night since season ended and Lbf and jamaal are there just about every day working on their game. Seems like LBF is really serious about making the next step.

LBf would need to make a vast improvement just to be relevant next year.

Tell me something you disagree with me about? We agree more than you think. Unless you create some rediculous, over-exagerated claim that I've never made... lol
