www.jucohoopfan.com/teampreviewsmen.htmWrite Up by Dave Rhogan Bryant Crowder, 6-10, Ctr, frosh. Can finish, rebound and block shots, and should make a huge impact this season. Think Amare Stoudemire in terms of style. Played in the Say No Classic this summer and averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds in the 4 games I saw (going up against plenty of D-1 guys including some from the likes of UCLA and USC), helping his team to the league semifinals. Plays with a purpose and understands the game. With his combination of height, athleticism and skill he’s among the most talented players in the California JC ranks.

Great, someone to replace Malcom. Who else was recruiting him?

Don't you love when you google a player and read something like: Santa Monica featuring perhaps the state’s top player in Bryant CrowderHere

Why did this guy go to a JC? Did he not qualify coming out of highschool? It looks like qualifying might have been an issue. He was a 5th year senior in high school that played on some very good AAU teams in New York but he seems to have fallen off everyone's radar shortly after that. I think he will be 22 when (if) he makes it onto campus ... but his story and game is strangely familiar to Malcolm Thomas'. www.tgbtg.com/documents/WolverinesHANDOUT_W.PDF

Great, someone to replace Malcom. Who else was recruiting him? From 2008 Already in the hunt 6'9 Jr Bryant Crowder from Houston (Inner City) TX are Indiana, Oklahoma, LSU, and Houston. Must be the same guy. Could there be two centers by the same name in the same class?

Now that is a Steve Fisher style big man. One who can run the floor.

The info on this dude is strange. I think he's from Harlem NY .. but he seems to have been all over the place. But he looks like he has pretty good talent and because he will be older (21-22) he should step right in and help immediately. He has played in several west coast all-star games over the last few years and he actually played in a few against Malcolm Thomas (and Drew Gordon, etc) putting up 22pts 18rbs and 4 blks in one of the games. www.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=976226Although he didn't score big in the finals, Crowder was a standout for Brandon Bass Elite throughout the event. In the first game of the tournament the smooth shooting 6-foot-9 forward scored 30 points. Iona is showing strong interest in the big man. hovpen.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=831238

With tons of time left to recruit, we have this on the front line (with a couple of ifs) for 2011... -Bryant Crowder 6-10 -Tim Shelton 6-7 (If knees allow) -Alec Williams 6-5 -Brain Carlwell 6-11 (Slim, slim, chance for a medical year) As I see it, we need two more big men. One needs to be a banging power forward type.

This is awesome news! Adding this guy to a Pre-Season Top 25 Aztec team for next year can only be good news.
